Could the foods you eat aggravate your asthma?
Absolutely, says Richard Firshein, D.O .,assistant proffessor of family
medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Being
asthmatic himself, he researched into dietary changes that could help
him manage his condition. He was able to control control the frequency
and severity of his asthma attacks.
He compiled the following list to
help people with asthma :
*Do eat more fruits and vegetables.
*Do eat foods rich in magnesium, eg seafoods, whole grains.
*Do eat foods high in vitamin E :olive oil, soybeans, cod liver oil.
*Do eat fish, especially oily cold water species, eg salmon, tuna,
sardines.
#Dont eat junk foods.
#Dont eat a diet heavy in fats.Reduce your consumption of meat, whole
milk dairy products, margarine, fried foods, commercial pop corn, and
most commercial baked goods.
#Dont eat smoked, cured, barbecued, and grilled foods.
